Residents of Punta de Mata have been evacuated due to the strong smell of gas following the explosions recorded at the Muscar Gas Compression Plant in Punta de Mata.
As expected, the institution in charge took a long time to issue a statement and to hide the real reason for the explosion. The usual discourse is to say that it was a "sabotage", when the reality is the lack of investment and maintenance for more than 10 years.
Petróleos de Venezuela, S.A. (PDVSA) reports that on the morning of Monday, November 11, 2024, a fire occurred in the 26" Muscar Soto Gas Pipeline of the Muscar Operational Complex, belonging to the Punta de Mata Division, Ezequiel Zamora municipality, in the state of Monagas. A multidisciplinary team, made up of various organizations from the oil industry, Civil Protection, the Bolivarian National Guard, Monagas State Firefighters and PDVSA, has been on site since the incident was reported to carry out the relevant tasks and mitigate the event. Technical personnel carry out maneuvers in accordance with safety protocols to protect the safety of oil industry personnel and nearby communities. So far, five workers with injuries caused by the explosion have been treated in health centres, guaranteeing them specialized medical care and providing all the necessary support. The technical team is carrying out actions to fully control the eventuality, while determining the strange circumstances of the incident that outline it as an attack on our industry.
Wait... it's, manage by "the state"? They are lucky at least works.
