Downzap me all you want to outlaw this post for clickbait, but you know I’m in the right territory for this question 😈

Literally only @sime or @fiatdenier replied with that answer!
Most said 1000 sats is 30 cents or they think like it’s a dollar.
My favorite is @nightsofbitcoin who said sats are worth more than children #221256
reply
I did ask people to think about value and not exchange rate, so maybe there would have been more if I had posed the question less carefully.

Too smart for your own good. Should be more like someone I know who is a STUPID STUPID MAN

That was my first big post. It wasn't easy to get that kind of engagement back then.

Why not? Did u get better or did SN get more popular?

Pretty clearly the later.
Price action makes us riiiiiicher, bitch.
That's good. We need better command over material goods

Bitcoiners becoming more wealthy and thus acquiring more power in the legacy system is important.
Rich in the ways that matter in the current world.
reply
this 👌
reply
In what way? To be rich in USD and be left out of the rise? Everyone talks like they are taking profit, but a majority of the bitcoiners are holding, not cashing out.

In what way?
You don’t see rich people in USD having a lot of influence?
I’m not talking about selling, I’m simply talking about influence. You’re still rich in USD terms even if you don’t sell. Also, even if you’d sell, doesn’t mean you need to sell all of it.
The only reason people look to MSTR is because the price went up. That matters. They don’t need to sell for this effect.
reply
Rich people do have influence, I am not saying they dont. I think the power structure will be changing soon.

So bitcoin price in USD terms matters or not?
reply
It only matters if you sell your bitcoin for USD. If you are still holding it in bitcoin, its bitcoin.

It's not that Bitcoin price is rising, it's that the fiat shit is decreasing its purchasing power. In other words shit is going to the place that it deserves, 'into a gutter'.

Milk didn't get 30% more expensive in USD in the past month.

Alright. What about buying milk with Sats instead of Fucking shit?

But it did on a Bitcoin standard
reply
1122 sats \ 18 replies \ @senf 10 Nov
But it didn't in any way that makes sense in reality. I care about the real-world purchasing power of my sats, not some puritanical false view with blinders on that requires ignoring the wider context in the world around me.
reply
If you've converted all your fiat into Sats just 5 days ago, evrything in your wider world might have become cheaper by at least 15%.

I'm clear. There's no fucking Bitcoin price thing. If you're calculating Fiat to Bitcoin, it's a sin in itself. Fiat gets a number because the governments attach to it.
Bitcoin gets its value by itself.
So, there's no need to attach a price tag with Bitcoin. Let it be 1sat=1Sat.

How many sats would it be reasonable to pay for a pack of hotdogs next month?
That's exactly correct, because the purchasing power of Bitcoin has increased quite a bit.
Rather than, as you said: "It's not that Bitcoin price is rising, it's that the fiat shit is decreasing its purchasing power."
reply
And you mean that fiat is stable? It isn't volatile?

Well aware of where I am. Bitcoin is fucking amazing, but some of us have real dumb takes sometimes.
reply
Yes. It was dumb saying milk didn't get 30% more expensive in dollars in the past month but it surely did in past few years. This is what you get in Fiat standard.

One day Bitcoin will be worth $100M but by then the dollar will be a worthless unit of account anyways.
