15 games into the season and the Sabres are 7-7-1 after beating Calgary in a shootout today. This is the 2nd 3 game winning streak the Sabres have achieved. Last year our first 3 game win streak didn’t come until February.

I am trying not to get to excited because during this 13 year playoff drought I have experienced good winning streaks in the fall only to have the team fall apart in the winter and spring.

But I am feeling different about this team. It appears Lindy’s defensive system is starting to work. Also they are a bit more tougher willing to throw the body around. With this style of play they should be in a lot of games and should avoid the soul crushing 5 or 7 game losing streaks.

It’s a long season and one injury can set everything back but on this Saturday afternoon I feel great about this team.

Now watch them go lose to Montreal on Monday and I’ll be back on stacker sports ranting about why this team is doomed.
