Last night I fell asleep early because I had a busy day with work and getting ready to travel. It still wasn't clear who would win the election. I checked my texts and saw that the maga wing of my family had a giant election night group text going. They were worried about the returns when one of them said, "don't watch tv, just watch bitcoin's price." Then they all started tracking bitcoin's rise to a new high. These were people whose eyes would glaze over if I attempted to talk about bitcoin. I have no idea whether they will now take the time to learn. Maybe the circus did some good.

I woke up in the middle of the night, and that's the first thing I did, opened SN to check the time in Russia... lol

Its all about the hype. They would be more happy if they actually owned some, right?
reply
I would think. Two of my nephews have some, since I give them some for Christmas every year😀

They must be happy. Or maybe the parents are happy? Maybe during the holidays they might ask you a few questions about bitcoin if they arent too prideful.
reply
I have talked to them over the past three years. They're fine young men. They just see things in fiat terms. They are impressed by how much bitcoin has appreciated. I was really thinking more about the others when I made the post. It was a huge group text.

It takes time to really appreciate bitcoin. When you see your wages disappear, then it starts making a difference. Until they actually see the effects, they wont understand bitcoin, only in theory.
reply
I agree. Also, in their mind Trump = bitcoin. That really annoys me for obvious reasons, but they automatically have positive feelings towards it now.

I have been getting that message from others, too. They seem oblivious to the fact that trump could have supported bitcoin during his first term. They are sheep that have had the wool pulled over their eyes.

I hope this doesn't turn into a Shitcoin Parade with some bullshit Trump coin and Musk's beloved doggie.

As a european I mostly ignored the whole annoying circus. Today my wife asked me: "So today they are voting right?" I laughed and said "No, they did yesterday". She looked at me surprised and asked "Who won?". I replied "I don´t know, but judging bitcoins price probably Trump"
reply
It certainly seems that the result of these elections has opened the eyes of many people and has shown them that Bitcoin is the only escape from the fallacy of Fiat money.

That's how I followed the election. Champions League highlights on the TV, kids reading books, and BLOCKCLOCK reading out the future in realtime.

Bitcoin did tell the tale. Highly liquid, global asset trading 24/7 will do that.

I’ve enjoyed the circus over here in the UK too. 😄

NGU always reels in the no-coiners. Designed that way since day 1 and had been working like a charm since day 1. Another display of the genius of Satoshi.

For the first time ever CBS and CNN have been my only channels on the TV in last 24 hours. I was surprised to note that everyone except me liked to watch the circus, especially Trump's Victory Lap speech. What a Show!!
reply
You're not alone. I watched some MSNBC Morning Joe this morning. Maybe I'm cruel, but I love to watch these jackasses cry in their cereal.
reply
HAHAHA yeah

I was shocked to notice my mother who otherwise don't understand asked me like 10 times for the results and she only wanted Trump's victory for he's Modi's friend.
And of course, I was not there for the results because I don't care...;)
Then why I watched the circus?
I must say CBS is much much better than CNN.
reply
Yes, but that's a really low bar 😀
reply
But, nobody really cares for the bar here. My brother kept on asking the various outcomes of this victory. He even said that this would lead to Modi+Trump = Peace Messenger together after Modi congratulated Trump.
reply
Nor should they. I'm hoping this is the end of these legacy networks altogether, but I doubt it
reply
I agree. They will find a way. Most probably they will be talking Trump's heroics 24*7 from now.

No. That won't happen. The neocons and their media apologists won't allow it.

I’ve considered repeating their words about bitcoin in the past (bitcoin isn’t real money, it uses too much energy etc.) when they start to ask me about it but maybe that’s not being humble.
But I am really interested in their reactions. Like what has changed in their perspective? Approved by the media now? Or just FOMO?
I think it would also be funny, at least for me.

Excellent, I hope that after this everyone ends up getting closer to Bitcoin and learning about its benefits and how it can save us.
