Can't truly be privacy-focused if the company also has ad products. The incentives are not aligned with the users. Will not use.

unfortunately best non google search i have found is duckduckgo. (which i believe just uses a microsoft index)

would love a web index to use a distributed hash table with a very clean interface like duckduckgo and mobile friendly
similar to how btdig does for torrent content

you can check search engines which should be used as search source. select google to get google search results.
