In case anyone is wondering, one of the designers clarified to me (you can ask him yourself in the official telegram group, where I did) that the objective of this development is to increase current scripting capabilities at core level, but it do not aims to be an EMV. So for example it's not projected to be viable to emit stablecoins or nfts or the like. That's left to L2 layers.
