Hello, first of all, I want to clarify that this is just an idea and a personal opinion on the matter, an idea that I have developed over the years, my experience and according to how I can understand the world today in 2024. Remembering how my upbringing was and measuring it with what I try to give my daughter today.
  • Martial arts or self-defense
  • Some sports skills and knowing how to swim
  • Reading, writing and expressing their ideas
  • Basic personal finances
  • Basic first aid for emergency situations
I would like to know your opinion, or what you could add to this list 🤔
I would add something about developing interpersonal skills.
It's really tough to pick a top 5
  1. Reading
  2. Communication
  3. Cooperation
  4. Personal Finance
  5. Cooking
I hate to not include swimming, running, martial arts, or emergency preparedness skills, but they just don't come up nearly as often as the others.

Thank you for your opinion, it is certainly very difficult to choose only 5 highlights... but my intention was to leave it open to other perspectives and to read what other brilliant minds think, thank you for participating. Of course, cooking is a skill that every human being must master, cooking and knowing how to catch their food if necessary.

5 essential skills imho:
  • self defence, by whatever means available. recognize when non-aggression is better.
  • traversing ground and water with basic skills: running, hiking, bicycle, swimming, rowing, climbing (with & without rope).
  • asking many purposeful questions and thinking a few steps ahead. grammar, logic, rhetoric.
  • math, geometry, music.

I totally agree with your list. I would highlight music 🎵 I think that we should all have the ability to create music, no matter what instrument is used, you may like the guitar 🎸, the trumpet 🎺 or just a harmonica... creating music is an exceptional skill.

i love an idea that dna is a reception & transmission instrument for the sound frequencies of the universe, both audible and inaudible, like a complex string instrument. it has been shown that dna resonates at different frequencies.
light frequencies are important as well, tho those do not penetrate as deep, and mostly received by the skin and retinal melanin.
