I can see why we don’t use them here on this planet!
The gamma radiation alone is a good reason not to use them here.
On the other hand, using them where you can control the exposure and use them for a long time makes good sense.
The article didn’t say, but is thorium a feasible fuel for these generators?
There is a lot of thorium available for this kind of usage.
