wow that's amazing, swimming is one of my favorite activities, but I can't even do a third of what you say. Seriously, how do they have that motivation and perseverance to do physical activities? I just procrastinate.

I unsuccessfully tried to find on Google which famous socker goalkeeper from the old days, when he was over 40 and still was a goalkeeper of the national team, just because he was still better than other young goalkeepers - and asked by journalist what is his secret, I remember he replied like this:
"Training is like a drug."
I can confirm, and I am older than he was then ;)

I'm 43. I started lifting when I was 38. I agree, once I started seeing the improvements, all I wanted to do is push further and further.

P.S. probably it was one of them:
"Known for his work-rate in training, dedication, and discipline as a footballer" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dino_Zoff or "Known for his work-rate, mentality, discipline in training, and physical conditioning" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Shilton

I look like a wounded animal in the water lol. Swimming is definitely not my strong suit.
Good for you though! I really hope you get it. There's nothing like hitting a new milestone!

LOL this comment made me laugh so hard "I look like a wounded animal in the water". Everyone has their strengths and weaknesses, that's great.

OMG that's too much, you must have worked very hard to get to those levels, it's not easy at all. I like your positive and persevering attitude. You're going to make it!

I've been lifting pretty consistently for just under 5 years. If you just stick with it, you get stronger. It's been pretty fun.

How do you manage to maintain motivation and perseverance? I can't manage to have that discipline.

It only takes about 2 or 3 months of motivation, because at a certain point it just becomes routine. At this point it's just what I do. I remember hating working out when I first started, but now I genuinely enjoy it. I'm a big nerd too, so I have years worth of spreadsheets, I've tracked my progress from the beginning.
