the lightning logo is still distinct from the title, and familiar to everyone (when oriented correctly). it makes sense that if this is a lightning network site, the lightning bolt enables the lightning functionality.

the fact that it looks similar to the 'S' is less important, but would actually help tie the design of the logo together with the function of the site. important to give new users icons they recognize in a familiar form.

I'll experiment with the fill and color.

I'm torn on whether I like it looking like the 'S' or not.

+1 for the color change idea, maybe worth experimenting with a filled pin too, rather than an empty one with a border (since lightning icons are all filled.

also, the lightning bolts on the leaderboard are backwards, going from top-left to bottom-right, while the 'S' in the stacker news logo is angled like a traditional bolt (google search for lightning bolt and they're all the same), going from bottom-left to top-right.

can we change the lightning logo to be angled like the stacker news 'S'?
