pull down to refresh

My girlfriend and I went to her doctor the other day. She feels weak and tired all the time. Her mood is down, and she is stressed and in pain.
She tells her doctor about her symptoms. The doctor responds with a list of pills and prescriptions to counteract the symptoms. My girl tells the doctor what pills she is taking and what she has at home. They fill out the blind spots with even more pills.
The whole conversation takes less than 10 minutes. She was never asked about her routine. I'm not a doctor and I don't know anything about medicine. But I was curiously shocked that not a single question like this was asked:
  • How is your sleep?
  • How is your diet?
  • How regularly do you eat and what do you eat?
  • How much exercise do you do?
  • How often do you go out, get some sun, take a walk?
  • What is your stress level and where is the stress coming from?
  • How long have you been feeling this way?
These are normal questions that come to my mind. But hell no, there was none of that. The Fiat world turns doctors into pharmaceutical pill sellers. The fiat world produces fiat doctors.
I was so angry. But my girl was happy. She had a list of pills to make her happy again. No work, no effort. Easy shortcut to happiness. She now takes 8 pills a day.
Where is the proof of work? Where is the responsibility for one's own body and health?
Are we fighting a war between fiat pills and proof of work?
The other day I had a conversation with friends. Same story, she has depression, she is getting overweight, she feels weak and unmotivated, but luckily, she takes pills. 5 of them every day. I told her that this is crazy. She complained that not everyone can be as lucky as I am. To be fit, slim, healthy and happy. I can’t understand her struggles.
Fuck her! Not really, she is a good friend. But this is the answer I get most of the time in society nowadays.
I cannot understand the struggles of others who HAVE to take pills.
What do they mean? THEY can’t understand my work to be healthy.
  1. I get up early every morning and force myself to exercise.
  2. I make breakfast with eggs and cheese and a homemade smoothie full of fruit and dairy.
  3. I listen to podcasts on the way to work to educate myself.
  4. I look at each day as a new opportunity, and I am optimistic and open-minded about the world.
  5. After a stressful day at work, I go home, eat meat, go for a walk and get some sun.
  6. I do my housework to keep my place in order and ‘healthy’.
  7. I take a second workout before relaxing on the couch with my girlfriend at the end of the day.
  8. In bed I do my daily chess puzzles and get some pages to read before turning off the light and calling it a day.
This is a typical day. Taking care of my body, my mind, my environment and my responsibilities. Keeping a routine is hard and takes a lot of effort. I show the world the proof of my work every day and do not cheat with a pill shortcut.
And these people tell me I'm lucky? I deserve it! I earned it to be privileged enough not to take pills. I have earned not having to go to the doctor for over a year. I earned it to be healthy and happy.
You guys don't deserve shit. You never show the proof of work, you just demand. There is no responsibility, so why should there be freedom for you and your body?
Fiat is screwing all of us and we must fight it.
So, get out there, get some sun, touch some grass, do your work, physically and mentally, to earn the privilege of not taking pills.
this territory is moderated
Tbe irony is that they have made a different doctor for a different symptom. For strees related issues if you go to a surgeon he will just take his fees for advice and fill his pockets but he won't have much of advice.

Daily chess puzzles? Sounds like we got another guy to compete with @denlillaapan and the one @grayruby knows!

Did you try the chess bot yet?
reply
I'm such a low elo pleb. I have played @denlillaapan couple of times before. I would say I win 2 out of 10 games.
What is the chess bot?
reply
@ek created a chess bot you can play right here on SN.
reply
@needcreations_ had a chess territory for awhile. At some point I am hoping chess and other games will be a sub territory within stacker sports.
Maybe at some point we can have a lighting poker tournament to satiate @realBitcoinDog’s penchant for SN after dark.

I think we had a NSFW territory.
reply
Territories only going down for the inactivity by their owners. I think it's never a good idea for someone lazy to start a territory.
We can just call the territory AfterDark
But yes a poker tournament would be fun!
reply
SN does need more activity in North American non working hours. Maybe after dark is what it needs. Haha

The Fiat world turns doctors into pharmaceutical pill sellers. The fiat world produces fiat doctors.
I know some doctors that are only good at prescribing medicine and got rekt for not questioning them. And now I need to read the protocols for maladies from minister because they violate them, like prescribing half days.
It's not only fiat, it's also the refusal to gain more knowledge with time.
Don't trust, verify... And even then you have to go to doctors, because they have skills you don't have.
I was so angry. But my girl was happy. She had a list of pills to make her happy again. No work, no effort. Easy shortcut to happiness. She now takes 8 pills a day.
We happy few...
dang I edit it third time. Someone just needs advises to live lonely, like from shreif gaber.

You are absolutely right! It's not only proof of work, it's also dont trust verify. Same goes for all the other BTC slogans out there: "Put your money where your mouth is" would also apply here. Do they practice what they preach to others?

For what they practice I don't know. I know only what they prescribed. By the way the doctor who violated the protocol and gave me the half days needed of antibiotics also operated me, and darn he is good at it ¯_(ツ)_/¯
