My daughter was eagerly helping to hand out Halloween candy to trick-or-treaters tonight, once we got home from our own trick-or-treating.
It was fairly slow, which was good because I didn't buy a ton of candy. Some of the older kids started showing up, including some pretty obvious teenagers.
My daughter told one of them "You are a big kid. Big kids don't trick-or-treat."
My parents thought it was hilarious and told her "Good job." I told her that she's right and big kids aren't supposed to trick-or-treat.
I wonder if that kid will remember the little Spiderman who told him he was too old for trick-or-treating.

My son didn’t trick or treat for the first time this year. Little one went as embarrassment from inside out 2. I didn’t really get that costume, looked like an alien to me but she liked it and had fun.

How did the decision not to trick-or-treat happen?

My wife asked him if he wanted to trick or treat this year and he said no. That was about it.

Do you have lots of older kids (13+) trick-or-treating?

We don’t get many kids trick or treating in my area. It’s a resort area near the golf course. There some kids in the neighborhood but not many. My parents get a lot of kids coming to their house and definitely some older ones that go to the local high school.

Would she be able to recognize a card like that as being bitcoin? In the dark? Im just surprised at that kid. Even my son doesnt know enough to recognize that in the dark while digging through candy.

She would recognize the bitcoin logo.
I wish I could share audio on here. I have an audio file on my phone from when she was 2 and I ask her “Izzy what’s this” (I am pointing at a souvenir coin with the Bitcoin logo on it and she says “that’s a Bitcoin”

oh wow. You must have really integrated it into her life. Did she have a bitcoin doll? I think if I have one more, I will do that. Get them a bitcoin doll, bitcoin pillow, bitcoin cloths, bitcoin blankets. Then it will always be a part of their life.

No. She just always liked that souvenir coin when she was young and I would tell her that’s a bitcoin. Now she knows Bitcoin is only digital and isn’t actually a physical coin but back then she thought it was like a gold coin. I have gold and silver coins as well and she used to like to look at those so I think it was easy for her to understand.

We had our first trick or treat with my son who was looking forward to it all week. It was the first thing he said in the morning: "OK, let's go"
"go where?"
"TRICK OR TREAT!"
He dressed up as a skeleton dinosaur and had a jack'o'lantern mask. When we were out he was starting to get scared. Especially if the people who had realistic costumes on! He was shaking... It was hilarious!
Its funny as we never did Halloween like this in Australia. But from what I saw last night, it was huge! There were people walking around all dressed up everywhere. Some teenagers causing some trouble too, but overall had a good experience.
