Have read several of Hararis books and he is certainly not advocating for this but rather warning of the potential.
However it is not anywhere in his work suggested that the elites want 90% of us dead.
What he is saying is that post industrial technology does imply and has already led to new elites who hold considerable concentrations of power and wealth...eg Gates.
Harari argues algorithms become potent concentrators or power- eg Google and Uber.
Agree totally we need to be wary of this and consider how to respond for example data security and privacy become important as do many other issues of equity, democracy, wealth distribution and liberty.
There is also hope- in the shape of Bitcoin- a unique and revolutionary decentralised blockchain algorithm that reverse engineers some of the dangers of corporate software and redistributes the power to the people via decentralisation!
What we need is level heads, accurate information and constructive debate- not hysterical scaremongering based on misinformation.
