Sometimes after a long day of consulting with my fellow Stackers in between unimportant life events I wake up at 2 am and discover that I was not rewarded for doing a great job. Nada. Nothing.
I wonder in my angst if I was not in the random matrix of the goddess of fortune. I weep while on the porcelain throne. I try to pinch off an ounce of dignity but instead my fundament refuse to cooperate. Left in dismay I push a little harder. Nothing. Nada.
Happy Bitcoin Paper day!
Nodes been down for a couple of days. Stopped working after I switched routers. Seems like it can't connect to the internet and my lightning node is down. I don't have much on my lightning node, but was really enjoying the ease of albyhub, the budgeted NWC, zaps sent directly to my node. I'll get the thing working eventually probably need to cough up the 100 for start9 customer support (which is worth it).
Just remembered SN is shifting away from custodial and I had everything set up with my node......
Hopefully I don't forget to setup NWC with an e-cash alternative before the 5th. Hectic times, doing a bunch of things at the same time......not sure if I'd want things to be any different. Its a wild hustle, anon.
Post a bounty.
Interesting, but I'd want to hear their teams response first. Posting bounties for things that might be a bit private in nature feels a bit awkward too.
Today in Halloween Mode. 🎃
As a child I never did these trick-or-treating activities, in the country where I grew up, they don't celebrate these holidays, at most some businesses use it for advertising, but the activity of giving candy to children is not something that merchants or ordinary people put into practice. It's very fun to be able to do it and see my daughter's smile, and see how much fun she has just going out for a walk, while we visit commercial establishments that support the fun spirit in children giving away candy.
Tell me, do you also enjoy Halloween 🎃 with your children?
Yes, we wrapped our Trick-or-treating and my daughter's been helping handout candy since we got back home.
She seems to enjoy sharing candy almost as much as getting it.

@siggy47: Tommy's in Los Angeles made the list for best hamburger in SoCal.
When I was in Amsterdam, Portugal and Spain last month I never saw fat police officers or military. I did see fat rent-a-cops.
Today I'm at a military base in Virginia and I see so many fat people in uniform. 60 percent are in good shape which is awful.
I still can't get over the military mandates to get jabbed by a secretary of defense who used to work for pig pharma.
I'm grateful that I've lowered my expectations and decide that when I'm perfect everyone else should be also.
I consider all of this a reflection of me. I'm a work in progress. May all beings of this Universe find happiness, love and devotional service.
Ok Halloween time. Who’s handing out sats?
I just saw a wholesome video about it on reddit. Some young kids actually know what it is!

Realized I can make Amex payments using my Fold card (via paypal bill pay) to get an extra 0.5% back (previously only thought this was limited to Citi cards). Kind of nice to get an extra $5 in BTC rewards to make payments.
Playing the credit card churning game this year for fun and this might further entice me to keep the Amex Gold long term even though it is an annoying coupon book.

You are a good example!
Today I say goodbye to my FIAT job, it has been a difficult decision but there is no turning back, I will only focus on the community work of the Cuba Bitcoin Project.
I will pray for your success!

I moved up on the cowboy list. Who lost their hat?
Why is this so important?
Its not important. I was stuck in 21st for the longest time. Suddenly l moved.
Congratulations!
Where is the list
Have to go to the top tab and then select the cowboy dropdown menu.

Are they selling every one of them at a terrific loss? Are they making them with slave labor? Are these the ones that burst into unquenchable flames when they get too wet?
Good questions ... I don't have the answer

Turing complete semantics for smart contracts
Open Source has changed the world in the last few decades.
It's crazy to think that one person can change the world by themselves by simply publishing source code that solves a problem.
Most people, all around the world, use many open source libraries and programs every day that are written and maintained by a handful of people, most of them are not even paid, and the software is extremely useful.
On the other hand, we have millions of people creating code on top of this, which is not that great, but end up receiving a lot of money.
Crazy world we live in.
Even linux is subject to ofac sanctions.
I like that OpenBSD, because it is based in Canada, can freely export cryptographic functionality, because any of the US export laws don't apply to it.
https://www.openbsd.org/crypto.html
Could you please explain the difference between OpenBSD and Linux for the layman?
Also, does it matter that you like OpenBSD if the world uses Linux?
TL;DR: One initial OS, Unix, inspired the creation of two similar, but different OS, OpenBSD, and Linux. You can even see them in action today (Android is based on Linux, and iOS on BSD)
Once upon a time, the company Bell Labs was using an OS called Unix, which was written by Dennis Ritchie, Ken Thompson, and others.
Origin story of OpenBSD:
In the 1970s, the parent company, AT&T, started to share the source code of this OS to other companies and universities that were interested in it. One of them was the University of California at Berkeley, whom continued the development of it and made it more publicly available, in what would be known as the Berkley Software Distribution, or BSD. There's some drama following, but one branch of BSD ended up as OpenBSD currently, based on the last available BSD source code.
Now the origin story of Linux:
Bell Labs eventually started to sell Unix as a proprietary OS. Richard Stallman didn't like that the software of Unix was closed, so in 1983 he started a project to create a Unix-like OS but completely open source, called GNU.
Stallman and others continued to work on GNU, but weren't able to complete a kernel for it (the core of the OS).
In 1991, Linus Torvalds created a kernel that basically completed the GNU project. Most people call this OS Linux, and of course Richard Stallman calls it GNU/Linux.
The world uses both really. Most servers run Linux, Android is also based on Linux, but many systems that are used worldwide are based on BSD. For example the OS for PlayStation and Apple (macOS, iOS) are both based on FreeBSD.
So, thanks to University of Berkeley, and Richard Stallman (and many others), we have an incredible world of software today.
Why do you think these companies chose the OS that they did?
Do you see Linux losing market share if countries are prevented from contributing to it?
It's complex really, but one big difference is the license used.
With a BSD license you can keep your code closed, that's why iOS is closed source for example.
Linux uses GPL, which means the source code should be available, which you can get from AOSP: https://source.android.com Android derivatives like GrapheneOS use AOSP as their base for example.
There's no prevention of contributing to it. What I mentioned was the specific laws in the US about export of cryptography. You can't export certain types of software from the US to, say, Iran, or Cuba, etc. But those laws don't apply if the software originates from say, Canada, which is the case of OpenBSD.
Sure there is.

I really enjoy reading about the origins. The Genesis Book describes the early days of FOSS. I'm sure you know all about the history, but for those who don't, this is a great read:

Fantastic book!
I wonder how far back it goes, maybe only gets to the cypherpunks stuff, but in reality you could continue all the way to Alan Turing, and arguably all the way to Charles Babbage.
It goes back to MIT days. Greenblatt, Noftsker, Stallman.

Language - What not to doLanguage - What not to do
The global legal system is designed to strip you of your status. With your status lowered or even completely removed, your rights, freedoms and property will be next.
To combat this attack you need to have three areas of your life under full control, the first being your mind-set, and the later being your paperwork, but one area most people fail at is their language.
It is language that is the primary tool that is used to strip you of your humanity and turn you into a slave; although everything that happens to you does require your consent, you just don’t know it.
Syntax, words, phrases and even the tone within your voice are used against you.
Simple questions that you unwittingly answer will be your undoing.
The meaning of some words will have a different connotation to what you may think they have. Therefore you will be agreeing to something entirely different to what you may believe.
Language will be used to try and attach titles to you, in a means to lower your status. Do not allow this.

rediscovery of language and its occult meanings is one of my favorite topics i found thru bitcoin. language alone is a very poor way of communication, especially the anglish language. it's a pretty efficient coding language, so that people can code-program each other.
code can be used for good or for bad.
I think I'm going to start from season 1 and watch The Trailer Park Boys again.
I've never seen it but it's highly rated on imdb.

It's not for everyone. Very quirky comedy. I thought it was entertaining as hell, but some people I know can't believe I like it.

The people inventing in the lab are trying to pull the wool over our eyes. The things they invent are never as good as the things they are copying from nature. Gates is among the worst of them.

I think that they want to supplant nature as “gods”. Of course, that won’t work, it never has and never will.
