As Bitcoin advocates, we tend to look at the world differently than most people. Do you feel like you have become more cynical of hopeful in that transition? What are the benefits of remaining cynical? Why might we want to find more hope? Can we be hopeful while being discerning?
I consider myself very cynical, but someone once told me that "cynicism is for the weak," and it really made me have to think.
Perhaps what we should strive for is optimistic realism.

I like optimistic realist. There is a fine line sometimes. It's important to be aware and not be mindlessly trusting. And if we never trust it can make for a sad existence. You might enjoy the video. It's what it is about.

There's a great episode of House MD with a patient telling House "I'm not hiply cynical and I don't make easy, snide remarks. I would rather think that people are good and be disappointed once and again."
That exchange opened my eyes to how lazy cynicism often is. Seeing fault and flaws comes very easily to us, while seeing potential and value takes more discernment.

💯 . I really annoyed that show back in the day. We can only change that which we take responsibility for. We can't control others and if we always assume the worst, we will attract the worst I think.

"A cynical man sees the price of evrything but the value of nothing."
So, I almost always stay away from being cynical. Cynicism is like making people unhappy as unhappy you're about things. Yes there's a fine line between being cynical and critical. Be critical but not cynical.

I resolved to not be cynical sometime ago. It’s really hard to believe you’re capable of doing good and making change when you believe no one is.

This is good to hear. And an excellent point. A lot of people have issues with stacker because they want no trust ever. I say we need a little trust. Bitcoin scales with a little trust sometimes. And there is nothing worthwhile completely trustless. To hear this from you fills my heart. I have trust in you.

The cynicism you're talking about is really the revolution of your mind seeing things differently and adapting to what you see is best for you in an aggressive way and hoarding all that knowledge.

At my baseline, I think I’m an idealist. I think if you are not an idealist at heart, it’s difficult to last in teaching because you are working with kids who are trying (and failing) to beat the odds.
So, not being a cynic is good. I have always heard that a positive attitude causes the Law of Attraction to take effect. Good things come to Sensei!

As a cynic, I am skeptical about how I feel about it.

😂 I think questioning the self is most important to question.
reply
No I don't feel sonically good

Are you sure cynicism would be the correct term? Knowing about Bitcoin has changed my life and my thinking towards all things.
reply
I don't know. The word means something different for everyone. I just watched this video and it got me thinking. I want to have you all help me define it and let me know what the other words would be. I like discerning.

Cynic: Said of a person: Who acts with blatant falsehood or shamelessness. shameless, impudent, insolent, impudent, cheeky, impudent, shameless, seasoned. This is the definition that I have always had and that has been instilled in me, I sincerely think that being cynical has nothing to do with Bitcoin.

Cinycal means you have been driven by your emotions.
What happens outside you, should not determine your Inner wellbeing.
The life can not be always the way you want, so it is important to be well inside your self
