Elon Musk comes up on stacker quite a bit and we seem to be divided in how we feel about him.

For those of you who think he is a positive force for humans, tell me about it. What do you see as his greatest achievements and why? How is he helping us move forward? What does the Elon vision look like to you? I love to hear from you all. 💚

Purchasing Twitter has to be up there. It's hard quantity how much that will contribute to humanity, but I do wonder what it would look like 100 years from now if only one political voice was ever allowed to speak on the internet. It was starting to look pretty ugly for a while.

If he is for the people and smart, wouldn't he help grow nostr, instead of buying Twitter. It's still censorship. Just different censorship.

That's a very weird sentence. It's like saying "if my doctor was for good health, wouldn't he be working to cure cancer instead of treating patients"

There's always multiple paths to solving problems.

It is a weird sentence. Sometimes I say things in weird ways. And it bring up a great example. If doctors were for health, they would encourage fasting, meditation and breath work. And yet they don't. Why is that? It isn't because they are all bad. It is because they are part of a sick system. And our sick system is confused about what is best for us. Maybe Elon has good intentions and isn't that smart. Or maybe he is very smart, And is a taker from man. And maybe I am completely clueless and he is doing great things. I am just sharing my perspective.

But answer the question about nostr. Do you think what he is doing with Twitter is better than supporting open source decentralized technology?

It's not a question with a quantifiable answer. There's no guarantee that nostr will ever become popular, even with elon musks backing. It's actually less likely now, since half of the internet seems to hate him.

Well I don't want him backing nostr. I was just making a point. Nostr is like Bitcoin. Nothing is certain. But the writing is on the wall. Some can see it. Some can't. Elon doesn't see it. He is feeding fiat world still. Which doesn't make him bad. But if he is soo smart and visionary...

Elon Musk has demonstrated on several occasions that he is an opportunist. In relation to his renowned companies Tesla and Space X. Tesla was not created by Elon Musk. The founders were engineers Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning, in 2003. It was only the following year, with millionaire investments, that Elon Musk took over the position. At Space X there is no denying its merit, as it was its investment that provided to its brilliant engineers for creating something revolutionary. What bothers me is that it seems like Elon Musk developed the technology and his engineers just replicated it.

There is no Tesla and SpaceX without Musk, same as it was Apple under Steve Jobs. Vast sums of money is rare and needs the right entrepreneur.

I have no idea that without Elon Musk's money nothing would have happened. My point is that he cannot take credit for the work of several other people alone. Regarding Steve Jobs, the board of directors had no qualms about removing him from Apple at a certain period, after everything he did for the company. Having money and leadership are fundamental for a company, but without technical experts nothing would be possible.

Of course technical team is part of the equation. Even Jobs spoke highly of Woz as a cofounder of Apple.

Tesla Through tesla he was able to fund everything else. Batteries, space travel, hyperloop... I am not going to say paypal. No way.
