A few days ago, I had the opportunity to work as a photographer for a restaurant in my city. They needed photos of some of their dishes for their menu and some more candid shots for their social media.
We started by taking some photos of a typical Venezuelan dish called 'Patacón.' It's two pieces of fried green plantain filled with meat, vegetables, cheese, and sauces. It's a real Venezuelan treat.
Then, the restaurant owners asked me to take some photos while a few people were enjoying another dish. We wanted these photos to be more human and natural.
Of course, I also took a photo of each person individually.
The restaurant specializes in meats, so we proceeded to take some photos of the different types of meat they sell. We started with some photos of the raw meat.
In the first photo, I included the grill master so people could get to know him through the restaurant's social media.
The next photo is of some cuts of raw meat. Any meat connoisseur could identify these cuts just by looking at this photo.
The following photos are of beef medallions and their entire cooking process.
What makes this restaurant special is that all their dishes are grilled, giving them a unique and delicious flavor.
The medallions in their final presentation, already plated and ready to be served to the customer.
The next photo is of a smoked pork loin. Lovers of grilled meats will almost be able to taste this dish just by looking at the photo.
And to finish this session, I took some photos of the typical Venezuelan Christmas dish: Hallaca, salad, ham, and pork leg.
This dish is a must-have on the tables of millions of Venezuelans in December.
To take all these photos, I used my Canon RP camera mounted on a tripod to capture more light. For the lighting, I used my Speedlite flash with a 50cm octabox.
I hope you enjoyed these photos as much as I did!
