Knowing what happened with the Finneys (some people think Hal was Satoshi) might shed some light on this. There are lots of other reasons, but this is definitely one of them.

Satoshi Nakamoto, whoever he/she/it is, arrived very early. He/she doesn't care about being identified, he/she doesn't care about recognition, he/she only cares about the real deserved public good.
Sometimes I think that we could be facing the first case of time travel. Maybe SATOSHI NAKAMOTO came (came) from the future and brought us the solution to a big problem: SLAVERY TO THE FIAT OF THE BANKS.

I'm thinking along the lines of him being an Avatar. Definitely his nym choice evoked spiritual connotations.
Whether deliberately or by influence he was a vehicle for God's work.
