Yesterday, I did a birthday photoshoot for a client who was about to turn 21. Since it was such a special day for her, she wanted to capture it forever with a studio session.
The girl brought balloons and a cake to the studio to make the photos more birthday-themed. So we started by taking some photos of her standing next to the balloons:
To take all these photos, I used my Canon RP camera with a 50mm f/2.8 lens and a Speedlite flash with a 50cm octabox for the light.
I guided her with the poses throughout the entire shoot, making her feel more comfortable and allowing her to trust my work and enjoy the moment where she was the star!
Then we moved on to the photos with the cake. They turned out super cute! The girl made a gesture of biting the cake that looked really nice and natural.
Of course, we also took the classic photo of her blowing out the candle:
And to add some variety, we also took some photos of her sitting down:
After we were satisfied with the birthday photos, we started taking some without any extra accessories, so the girl could use these photos more casually on any day.
As usual, we started with some standing photos, and at this point, the girl was feeling confident and started doing some poses on her own:
To vary the photos we took some with her crouching down:
And finally, I'll leave you with my favorite type of photo, a close-up of the girl:
Honestly, the girl was so beautiful and photogenic that it was impossible for the photos to turn out bad!
I hope you liked the photos as much as we did!
