Sorry, but dont you need a client to access the Bitcoin Gossip Network?

So how can you use that to download the client?
Or did i misunderstand something here?

Download from Github or torrent is cool and all. But maybe we need distribuntion through the Bitcoin Gossip Network. 

Then users can decide their own rules under the knowledge who else signed and will be playing by the same rules.
