not recent, but bought a Jade from Blockstream few weeks ago, and Bitcoin was the only payment option, so I ended up paying through the Lightning Network. Worked like a charm!

Jade it's a nice device, simple and intuitive. However, I'm trying to get out of using HW and go back to more traditional storage :)

I mean avoiding software based cold-storage... like pen and paper, titanium plates or other DIY solutions like bolt and washers. For me using software just add liability, so I try to keep it simple

Fair point on keeping it simple, but aren't you basically treating your coins as a store of value rather than a spendable asset? I mean, if you're using pen and paper or titanium plates, it's not like you're planning on making frequent transactions or anything
