He has been far from what was expected of him in the playoff except for the first game against the Mets. Mades me think his back is much worse than we thought and it does make sense why teams like the Yankees pulled back after seeing his physical.
In the playoffs against San Diego, he went 5.1 innings pitch and gave up 4 earned runs losing the game. The second time out it was against the Mets and he went 7 scoreless but then he followed it up with with 3 innings and 8 earned runs. He has extra rest so maybe he can get his back into better condition but still its a stretch.
Earlier today Dave Roberts said that Shohei Ohtani will not pitch even though a month or so ago it was talked about that if they made it to the World Series he would be able to. For the record Ohtani did not seem upset about this and that might be because he is aware he is much more worth while to the Dodgers as a hitter compared to a pitcher who might hurt himself again and thus prevent himself from being able to to even swing in the World Series.
Doesn’t really make sense for him to pitch if he hasn’t been ramping up. It’s a nice story but are you gonna risk a WS game on a guy that hasn’t pitched in 14 months?
Maybe if he had pitched a few innings earlier in the playoffs but to come back just for WS doesn’t make sense. Unless it was an absolute desperate situation. Run out of pitchers in a long extra inning game or something like that.

It doesn't make sense. These sports news guys gotta have something to talk about.

Has he recovered from his injury, yet. If I were the Dodgers, I would make damn sure that he has healed completely so he doesn’t blow out his arm. It looks like he will be fine next year, though.

He started throwing off the mound a month plus or so. That’s why it was floated was he had been ramping up. I want to say I heard he threw against live hitters recently as well but yeah I figured he would be a possible wildcard to pitch. I am surprised they shut it down before hand though

How ridiculous are the Dodgers going to be next year when Ohtani and Glasnow are back. Their one weakness is the starting pitching. Next year it will be one of the best rotations in the league.
