I went to a briefing over the summer that had a couple of mining companies at (Marathon and Riot) and they talked about the ability for BTC mining to help build the grid in Africa and Latin America.

They discussed how it creates a way to generate money and returns to reach these pretty remote regions. Plus they highlighted that many of these regions would be great places for solar power for instance and so it could help pay for itself.

Fantastic to hear some of this stuff is taking off! It seemed almost to good to be true but glad to see it is happening!
