Unfortunately you can only lock rates in Canada for 5 years vs the USA 30 year fixed

Yeah, it would have been nice to lock in my mortgage for 30 years when rates were sub 2.
Fortunately, I have a small mortgage compared to most people so even when I had to renew at a much higher rate my monthly payment only went up a couple hundred a month.
