Man, this was sad news to wake up to. Fernando was just so exciting to watch, and was just such a workhorse (20 complete games in 1986, which was insane, even then). No news on cause of death yet.

This makes me sad. I never liked the dodgers, but I really liked him. I can still picture him looking up to the sky in the middle of his windup. I have no idea how he did that. I lived in LA in the mid 80s and was lucky to see him pitch live a few times.
Yeah, he was the guy I loved on a team I couldn't stand. And that delivery was amazing. Never got to see him pitch live, alas.
Great pitcher. What a memorable wind up.
