I couldn't remember my multiplication tables as a kid. My father kept me up past midnight going over them. It was the one and only time he tried to help me with homework. They are all still lodged in my brain.
The million dollar question is, did you have to do the same to your daughter?

I helped my daughter with her homework much more than my dad did me. I did not drill her on memorization too much. Calculators changed the world.
