This morning I stumbled across the news of Craig Wright being well Craig Wright again and filing a new lawsuit against Bitcoin Developers. Now I have read a couple of articles over it but I won’t lie I am crazy confused. My understanding was he was legally ruled not the creator of Bitcoin in the UK earlier this year and even was referred to by the judge to another court for charges of perjury due to his claims.
Since he has been legally ruled NOT the creator of Bitcoin how is it he is suing these Developers for deviating from the original vision and that Bitcoin SV is the “real” Bitcoin? I have tried to read about this and figure it out but for the life of me it does not make sense. How is it possible to sue for something the groups choices and does this actually do anything?
Anybody can hire a lawyer and sue anyone for anything even without any reason or merit.
reply
Yeah maybe but they don’t file a $1.18 billion one that according to reports I’m reading don’t say he exactly wrong because Taproot and SegWit did fundamentally change Bitcoin. It’s why I’m trying to figure it out because even the articles are saying well he isn’t exactly wrong

“The bitcoin devs owe me 1.18 billion because taproot changed bitcoin”
Doesn’t matter if taproot changed bitcoin is true. It’s a non sequitur.
reply
It’s obvious you have a position here and you think it doesn’t matter well the courts do since they accepted this lawsuit which they didn’t not have to do. Since they found merit it kinda matters hence why I’m looking for someone who could better explain wtf is going on
reply
Anybody can file a lawsuit and the bar for courts to accept it is very low. And even if some courts found some weird small semblance of merit, that does not mean there actually is any. If you think there is merit to the lawsuit read it and decide for yourself. But you will have to do a lot of mental gymnastics to find reason and/or logic behind any lawsuit this clown has filed. This one will end the same way all his previous ones have ended. And it’s unfortunate money and time will continue to be wasted on his frivolous lawsuits.

This wasn’t in the US courts it was in the UK so it’s much different.

Once a guy shows you who he is ( a liar, a cheater, an imposter, a forger, and generally a piece of shit) believe him. As for why the us courts(or any courts) allowed it, who knows. It points to a deeply flawed system more so than csw having any merit behind anything he does.
In case you don’t know the history of csw:

He's helping the legal system become more sensitive to frivolity. At some point he'll be blacklisted and another clown will have to step into his comically oversized shoes.

I see that happening I just wonder who else could pull the I’m Satoshi card ya know? So many people are either A) public about not being that person or B) dead

The demise of society full stop! You can always find a lawyer to sue for anything as long as you pay them money. No one has any morals anymore.

He said Bitcoin should be BSV, it’s open-source. It was what it is.
reply
So I’m not familiar with BSV was that just his project and so he is claiming that since his didn’t change it should be “bitcoin” and the current bitcoin is fake?
My basic understanding with BTC is that ya know the devs and really community come together to implement changes and it isn’t like this is forced upon people. So he’s just made BTC adapted and wants his unchanged version to be the one?

Yea, the latest filing he’s complaining he is owed money because BSV didn’t gain the market cap Bitcoin, so he he suing for a billion dollars to make up the difference, I think
reply
That makes a ton of sense the more I look at it cause BTC SV is practically worthless so that explains how he got the billion dollar mark. Thank you!
