Using Raspberry Pi 4 and Pico W, I was able to remotely monitor the remaining time on the washing machine.
Raspberry Pi 4 and camera module attached to the side of the washing machine. The system captures images once every 10 seconds wirelessly and displays them on a display in a separate room.

I must say that this is a wonderful to find out how much time it is needed to wait for my laundry if ever I get a chance to build one of this. Very smart of you. Very nice concept and prototype.
