I don't recall exactly but I think I also had to do something similar to get external zapping to work. Receiving was ok but zaps kept failing when I was on mobile and I believe I did the same thing. Detached and then attached again using mobile.

No, not bad. It was a bit much yesterday but I have been trying to deflect most people to supratic and ek since they are the experts. I just know what went wrong for me and your issue sounded similar.
I did mine a few weeks ago so I had help from k00b ek and the guy from coinos. Haha. It took a small army to get me sorted.
