Makers can submit their projects from other hackathons, events, and meetups that are held between the dates of our own tournament.
I wonder if improvements to existing projects (such as SN) made during that period would qualify.
This is going to be an area that requires a bit more definition... In short, yes... Makers will be able to come to our event with existing projects, however they will have to demonstrate and be judged on the work completed between Oct 12th - Nov 28th. This is the #BuildInPublic/Transparency judging criterion... So makers can't just submit work they completed a year ago. Hope that makes sense?
With regards to larger scale projects, we realistically might have to put a cap on those who have been funded in order to keep the playing field even. For example, a project that has received hundreds of thousands/millions in funding is going to operate on a different level to an unfunded side project. That doesn't stop founders from spinning up a side project and taking part though. More to come on this
