I thought it was an insightful episode.
Ocean are only doing bolt 12 at the moment. I wonder if that's for reasons of privacy. Would NWC provide that level of privacy? Only a fee wallets support it right? I know Braiins uses LNURL which might be similar to NWC.
I guess as long as you are able to get sats over lightning, ideally you should be able to choose how.
exactly, plus the reason I chose NWC as a thought experiment was cos you're tethered to nostr, plus my ideal solution would be ecash. Given that the receiver can get them evn whwle offline like the btc address.

It could be a good idea with ecash, but then they become custodians like the other pools.
On a positive it would save on output fees from the coinbase TX. 1 output goes to the mint where it can be claimed by each individual miner when they like.
But NWC is an extra complication I think.

There's work being done to tether npubs with ecash
They already are custodians, when you think about the fact that they make milli satoshi payouts. Which is a good tradeoff, even tho for now, the reliance is just on CLN. They've not allowed Bolt12 for other implementations. ECASH is the next best alternative imo. But nostr wallet connect is just a think I love.

Good point.
However Ocean does pay in Lightning Sats(BOLT12)
So it's possible to have a payout in ecash, as it's tethered to the lightning network.
Plus you could prove that the satoshis in a lightning channel that pays you out was from a coinbase transaction, and hasn't really been tainted
