Announcements

Welcome to this week’s newsletter. This week was a bit better for the territory than last, mostly because of @Rexdentron’s post about transaction size. It may be a little complicated for beginners (and me), but I found if you’re confused you should start learning by checking out his “Closing Bit” at the end of the article and studying the list of links he provides. I’m still working through it myself.
The territory income for this week once again failed to reach the threshold. Maybe someday!
Thanks to everyone who contributed.

Top 5 Posts Of The Week

There will be a zap award for the top 5 posts weekly. It will be broken down as follows:
  1. 1000 sats (or higher if threshold is met)
  2. 250 sats (or higher if threshold is met)
  3. 250 sats (or higher if threshold is met)
  4. 250 sats (or higher if threshold is met)
  5. 250 sats (or higher if threshold is met)
Average daily territory income this week: 1446 sats
Threshold: 2000
Therefore, the awards will remain the same this week.
Posts will be judged using SN zaprank. The cut off time is 9:00am EST (1300GMT) Friday morning. I will post the top 5 winners shortly after 9:00am every Friday morning.
I reserve the right to not award any sats for the week. I also reserve the right to deny sat awards to bare link posts. I recognize that link posts can be valuable, so I will only only exercise discretion for low quality links that garner few sats or engagement from stackers.

This Week’s Winners:

Learning Resources

The White Paper

Everyone knows about the white paper, but have you read it? Here is the pdf.

DarthCoin’s Guides

DarthCoin is a somewhat controversial figure with a manner that may take some getting used to, but I think his guides are excellent as step by step instruction. The sentence structure might be unconventional, and he may express some strong opinions, but you will learn what he has set out to teach you. Here is a link to DarthCoin’s Substack Page, where you can find all of DarthCoin’s guides: https://darthcoin.substack.com/

Rexdentron’s Ecosystem Map

@Rexdentron has created a comprehensive ecosystem map. I believe he intends to keep this list updated Beginners will benefit from checking it out, as will experienced bitcoiners.

Why Bitcoin Only

Why Bitcoin Only is a massive trove of links, where you can find just about anything you’re looking for. It’s also fun to browse around.

Top Posts Of All Time

Here you will find a few of the top posts that have been posted to this territory. I am not going to adhere to a rigid zaprank system, since my purpose is to highlight content that has educational value. I will use an informal combination of zaprank and my own evaluation. For instance, some posts, though of high quality, are solely about Stacker News, and might have more appropriately originated as a meta post.
hmmm I should continue the BDMD series

list of links he provides
lol the reason i don't explain my methodology is that because it's highly flawed, time-consuming and ineffective. V2 will come at least a year from now (basically waiting until more script types to come and be found by me at least)
My method in a nutshell is :
  • take the tx raw hex string
  • segregate EACH part
  • use letter counter to count ( 2 hex character = 1 Byte IRL = 1 vB (non-SegWit = 0.25 vB Witness)
  • don't be fool like me repeating that at least 200 times
  • oh i did searched the examples manually to one-by-one too

Thanks for the newsletter.
I kinda feel that the top article is not so beginners friendly or is it?

It was a challenge. I really think that beginners should at least try reading some of those links provided at the end of the post. Mempool basics, in particular, aren't too tough to grasp, and everyone will eventually need that knowledge.

Thanks for highlighting @Rexdentron's post and ecosystem map. Hadn't caught those.

congratulations on the top post for DarthCoin, and good luck continuing.

@Rexdentron actually had the top post, but @DarthCoin usually deserves congratulations for something anyway. Maybe you are clairvoyant, and he will be on top in issue 23!

Aahahah! Last week's newsletter made the top! 🤠
