Money Electric Is An Insult to Bitcoin – Cynical, Stupid, and Dangerous
It's true and I am certain to add 'Disgusting' to the title.
Of course, with the Magic of editing, and by exposing the “findings” to no criticism, I’m sure many viewers will walk away thinking they’ve been shown a clever and well-researched theory.
All Hoback proved to me is that he understands the shortcuts you can take when making a documentary. It alone among creative works allows you to hide all your errors behind editing, while making baseless and dangerous accusations seem plausible.
Curious to know how stackers react to this opinion.
The recent 'Opinion' section by Bitcoin Magazine is really making some impression here.
It's a good take by bitcoinmagazine. I didn't expect this coming from them. I thought, they would be praising the Documentary fo long

I agree. It very clearly used a lot of the common tricks you see in documentaries.
I honestly think they just chose to point the finger at Todd because he's one of the people they were able to get for interviews. So they could set up the confrontation scene at the end.
I wasn't as harsh against the movie in my review, but the more I think about it the more I think it really was a reckless and unethical thing to do.

Also, some of the documentary's points on scalability were quite weird. Like when it stated something along the lines of "now, you can make everyday payments on Bitcoin, but only through companies that take a cut on each payment" ; and then hinting that it may have been Blockstream's secret master plan all along.
That's not how Lightning works ; and I didn't expect such Bilderberg-ish conspiracy theories to be dropped like that in an HBO documentary.
