Nobel prize in chemistry awarded for mastering structures of proteins
- The Nobel prize in chemistry 2024 has been awarded to David Baker, Demis Hassabis (Google Deepmind Founder) and John M. Jumper for their work on understanding the structure of proteins, which play vital roles in all living organisms. Hassabis and Jumper, of Google DeepMind, developed an artificial intelligence tool that predicts the structure of proteins. Baker, at the University of Washington, has been recognised for his work on designing new proteins.

It’s interesting that tennis which is one of the most conservative and traditional sports have been leaders in utilizing technology to get calls right. Meanwhile mlb still has a guy behind home plate getting 5-15% of calls wrong every single game and occasionally affecting the outcome of the game.
AI definitely a game changer in sports. One of more controversial plays in soccer, offside, has become an easy and quick decision.
I also saw this one but that one made more sense for it at least made some boundaries for rivers.
This one actually made me laugh.
It's also not a real Chinese map.
On the real map, I'm surprised China is oriented in the same place as on European maps. I would have expected China to be at the center.
Right now it's on the center and Russia is at the center of China for Europe. Europe isn't sure at all about how to sit with both of them.
When Musk says something about free speech, he makes news everywhere. Now when he's killing it by accepting everything from Brazil, no news at all.
Also, where's his free speech self proclamation?
