I see bitcoin Amsterdam is here.

I don’t know if I’d go if it was in my city as do we need them?

If we are in bitcoin we are in it already I wouldn’t think many people that don’t know bitcoin would go would they? So it’s not really an orange pilling event?

Someone please enlighten me to the point of spending the money putting it on and b money to attend?

It's a service meant to make money for the organizers. Like any convention. I actually bought tickets for Bitcoin 2024 and I decided not to go out of fear but also because I couldn't afford the luxury event.

I did go to a World of Concrete trade show in Las Vegas in 2008 but it was paid for by my employer. They event was great! But I didn't have to worry about someone thinking I was Bitcoin rich either.

For me I think Bitcoin conferences are honey pots but that's also my fear thinking. This is exactly what the enemy of freedom wants is for us to be cooperative, complacent and afraid.

I had to dig deeper in my journey and I found that I needed to spend my limited human life on service to God and other humans so whatever activity I'm involved in needs to fulfill that need. People organizing a conference for Bitcoin or any other thing might feel the same way. I didn't have any particular role to play in the Bitcoin conference so I didn't go.

If you feel like you have something to offer in service to others then by all means you should organize and participate in a convention.

I volunteered at one once. I don't think I'd ever pay for one. Maybe if I had a business idea it might be good to meet people and network IRL.

If you have something to sell it makes sense being at one and you would want heaps of people to go but if not then not so much
