This is a tough question. Yesterday is the first game this season I thought he wasn't good. Even the Vikings game he was pretty good but got no help from the OLine and Aiyuk was non-existent. He has been pretty good overall considering no CMC and his other weapons like Kittle and Deebo have been in and out of the lineup and Aiyuk rusty. But as teams try to take away the run and short passing game, he seems to be playing more reckless this year. I am not a fan of that. 49ers are a run first, YAC, efficient, protect the ball scheme.
Fortunately it doesn't need to be decided after week 5.
49ers biggest advantage rn is a 7th round rookie qb salary playing like a top 10 guy

Absolutely. They should be able to keep the band together for the first few years of a Purdy extension. Cap will likely go up and they can keep the first few years cap hit pretty low like the Eagles did with Hurts but at some point there will be trade offs and even as early as this offseason they might need to make a couple hard choices. Greenlaw, Lenoir, Ward, Hufunga, Campbell, Banks, Feliciano are all starters that are FAs after this year. I expect they will be able to keep a few but definitely some turnover.
