Directs the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the President Pro Tempore of the Senate to arrange for the presentation of a congressional gold medal to Arnold Palmer (golf professional) in recognition of his service to the nation in promoting excellence and good sportsmanship.

Authorizes the Secretary of the Treasury to strike and sell duplicates in bronze of such medal. Requires proceeds from the sale of such medals to be deposited into the United States Mint Public Enterprise Fund.

Who doesn't like a good round of golf?

Honoring a sports figure for promoting excellence and sportsmanship is good. I don't know much about Arnold Palmer besides he was good at golf and that he created the half lemonade, half iced tea beverage that bears his name on the Arizona Ice Tea branded beverage. But this bill leans more towards well-being by honoring great human accomplishment.

This bill is not pumping the bags of the military industrial complex. The honoring of Arnold Palmer is an implicit vote for improving overall human well being. The amount of skill needed to be great at golf takes a lot time and dedication. This can inspire Americans to achieve greatness in all that they do. Opening the door for others to try the game of golf and improve their lives in a positive manner.

The reason I gave it a three because again this is a bill that doesn't really move the needle in either direction. The time Congress uses to bring forth and vote on bills such as this is more time lost to actually trying to fix some of the issues that face america today. Using tax payer money to mint bronze medals of this award and proceeds go back to the US Mint is not ideal but doesn't really hurt Americans in the long run.

After four bills Sen. Lummis has 10 points out of a total 20. That is good for 50% freedom score.

Two coin bills for the soft support of the military industrial complex and 2 bills honoring more of the positive things in America lands Sen. Lummis in the middle of the road. With these bills becoming law Sen. Lummis should be settling in and building upon her connections and making sure she can put forth her policies to make America better for all citizens. Lets hope her next bill lands a score of 5.
