I know people here at SN hate bureaucracy and I have an amusing bureaucracy story...
So, my work computer is heavily managed by (what I consider to be) an incompetent IT department.
Part of that incompetence is having the computer go to sleep and apply updates if the computer's been idle for some time, even if it's during work hours.
The problem with this is that I sometimes have to go teach for a couple of hours, and when I return to my computer, I find that it has gone to sleep, restarted, and applied updates.
So, what's the problem with that, you say? Well, given the incompetent insistence on many random spywares and so-called "virus protection software" on the computer, it takes forever to start up the computer after it's restarted. We're talking maybe 5-10 minuets of waiting for the computer to load. That's valuable time wasted. Not to mention, I may lose work if I had long-running jobs in the background. (I do a lot of data work that is sometimes computationally intensive... computer doesn't seem to account for these jobs running in the background when deciding to shut down.)
So... because of all that... I need a mouse jiggler. Not to pretend to work, but so that my damn computer doesn't shut down on me when I idle for a few hours.
Google PowerShell keyboard mouse jiggler script.
