Howdy there, partner! Welcome on into the Stacker Saloon.

I helped a friend to swap ETH to BTC on Trezor yesterday. It was about 520usd in ETH and received 486usd in BTC (fixed rate, not custom). From the suppliers there were 3 kyc and 2 non kyc. This was done through Letsexchange service non kyc. I don't know if the fee would be less on higher amounts, or through kyc services, but for this amounts seems quite expensive. Is it because of the gas fee of ETH or the tx fee of the service?
Anyway, at least it is an easy tool to do inside the trezor Suite on a more secure way between crosschains. The final confirmation was done 8-10hs later.

I'm trying out a different cacao brand today. (taking it with a huge chunk of butter) "Natures natural energy buzz"
Are there cacao enthusiasts on SN? What's your favourite brand? How do you consume it, and how often in a day?
reply
I was doing half and half with coffee
reply
Interesting mix. I think that's called mocca.
reply
Correct and it’s good mixing it up instead of just black coffee all the time

I had to give up coffee for health reasons, and regain control of my sleeping patterns. Cacao is my plan B, and I love it so far.

Extracting insights from my Yamanashi travel materials. Thank you for reading:
  1. You can find Japan’s highest post office at the summit of Mount Fuji.
  2. According to Shinto beliefs. The Fifth Station - where travellers typically start off when they climb Mount Fuji - marks the boundary between the mortal and sacred world.
  3. A gorgeous view of Mount Fuji can be found at the back of the old 1000-yen note.
  4. Visit Oishi Park in mid-June to mid-July, where a vibrant lavender field will be juxtaposed against the majestic Mount Fuji.
  5. Adrenaline junkies can try out the Fuji Airways (Hikousha) ride at a theme park called Fuji-Q Highland for a dynamic panoramic view of Mount Fuji.
Yamanashi
  • Top producer of grapes, peaches and plums in Japan.
  • That’s why it’s not surprising that a hotel called Hotel Hatta boasts real red wine baths on the 7th floor for both men and women.
  • Restaurants here cook their meat on lava stone hot plates, in which the lava is extracted from Mount Fuji. Doesn’t knowing this lead to the placebo effect, in which you think that the beef cooked will be more delectable?
  • Farmers feed cows grapes. Apparently, the enzymes from the grape husks consumed by the cows will contain antioxidants that minimises the gamey smell from the meat.
  • Wine beef curry is therefore a unique delicacy in Yamanashi.

if you aren't doing it with your own node, you have to trust someone else to verify the bitcoin for you. Brother, let me tell you: sometimes even the nicest ones fake it. And I'm not just talking about the cheap tricks down at the fiat bank who tell you they have your money while they're giving it out at the back door.
How to make love to your Bitcoin node (when it's been a while)
Possibly one of the worst things I've ever written. Look for it tomorrow.

They're getting powerful. I saw a demo of ClaudeDev. The developer of that project has given it a headless browser so that it can screenshot the webpage and get logs from console for debugging.
I tried it with local models, but I think it's meant for Anthropic models.

They really are. They're useless on some of the tough stuff, but so good at boilerplate now.
The one thing they're missing, other than the tough stuff, is conversationally making code architecture/abstraction recommendations. I suspect that will arrive before too long though.

The flow could use some work for sure. I like the diff view and being able to select the chunks I want, but it seems opposed to a chat view. Honestly, the fill in the middle feature is my favorite flow-wise.

fiat of the day
i noticed something interesting the other day, it's my youngest's birthday coming up and i was looking at a local cake website. at the bottom of the site, i noticed an EU badge and it said this business has received xxx from the EU such and such scheme
and get this for, it was related to cybersecurity and IT solutions for small and medium-sized enterprises, fully funded through a grant.
so i went and looked at another cake shop and found the same thing!
so a group of cake sellers have figured out the way to get some free EA fiat cash is to just say they are in cyber security.
i swear, does nobody check anything ?
that's the exact badge (it's Bulgarian)
so many people just want to get on the EU milkers instead of building a proper, profitable business!
