Both. It's money for the world. Bitcoin is LOVE in the form of money.
reply
I don’t know about that. Love and money are quite different things that are ideally quite distinct! The gift of Bitcoin to the world might well be a gift of love to humanity, I’ll go that far!

i once gave a presentation on what is bitcoin to a group of shitcoiners and said "bitcoin is salvation."
the only person who was interested in what i had to say after the presentation was a crazy-looking guy with a mathematics degree.
reply
I see bitcoin as a medium of account, store of exchange, unit of value.
reply
Both
reply
in 2024 you still ask this?
reply
In 2024 we don’t ask questions?
reply
this is a question for 2014 not for 2024. By asking this in 2024, it means you know very little about Bitcoin.
reply
And then what?
reply
Exactly! Its totally fine to ask questions about Bitcoin here
reply
yes, but not so lame old questions from 2014... this question is the same lame as "is it good time to buy BTC now?"
reply
then u either get it or u don't. if u don't, wait another 4 years for the answer to come to u.
keep stacking, obviously.

I think the store of value part has pretty much been proven.
The global currency or medium of exchange is still in the works. I think a lot will depend on the lightning network. I'm hopeful that it continues to grow and most of the issues will get solved over time.
reply
Bitcoin is money and as such it is an INSTRUMENT OF EXCHANGE, it must be exchanged for a product or service. But as a store of value we can be sure that it DOES NOT DEVALUE.
Bitcoin is to EARN IT, HOLD IT and SPEND IT
reply
Global currency? Maybe, but its strength is as the ultimate store of value.
reply
Why does it have to be more one or more the other? The last decade plus bitcoin has been one of the best stores of value. It’s has also been one of the best currency’s for transacting freely and openly without censorship. Trying to pigeon hole bitcoin into more this or more that or only this or only that is not a good idea.
reply
Hustle sees it more as money. A store of value, medium of exchange and unit of account.
But also a path towards financial sovereignty, personal growth, and individual empowerment.
.......And a bunch of other things when he sits down and thinks about it.
Mos of the common metaphors stick.
An economic black hole. An economic psychedelic drug. An elephant, and we are all blind men.
What do you see it as, so far? The rabbit hole runs deep.
reply
It is the best form of money. So it is both.
reply
Because of its ability to withstand inflation, I view Bitcoin as both a digital gold and a worldwide currency because of its permissionless-ness.
reply
I would say neither of the 2 options!! It is no longer a secret to anyone that in the not too distant future Bitcoin will be the most profitable and coveted value or asset by people in the world who are in charge... who are "open-minded" and want their economic freedom as soon as possible!! Now, as they say in the comments... I don't want to be told how to spend them or what to do with my bitcoins either...
reply
As is, it's digital gold. I hope it becomes both because I'd rather not ask for permission to spend my gold.
reply
I'm looking for places to spend bitcoin (ie for a cup of coffee) everyday.
reply
it's a digital tool. i punch a few buttons with my digits and get pretty awesome results.

Me too. Do think it will be possible?
reply
I think it's possible. We aren't there yet though.
