Excellent guide, as always. I have two questions, if anybody could help me:

  1. I get that if my node is unresponsive (due to my computer being off) channel partners will force close when payment fails. Would it apply too with private (non-announced) channels?
  2. For a VPS, what's the difference between the 'regular' hub and Alby server?

  1. Yes, non-announced channels could have a less rate of force closing, but is not 100% will never happen. Please read here why FC happen: #658770
  2. Regular you mean just start the albyhub executable ? The server part is a standalone service, not just an executable.

Yes, what's the difference between them, for what would I choose one or the other

executable = you start it only when you want to use it
server = is up running all the time as a system service.
both do the same thing, but do not start the same.
