According to the Japanese, everyone has an ikigai, “a reason for existing.” Some have found it and are aware of their ikigai; others have it inside, but are still looking for it. This is one of the secrets to a long, young and happy life like that of the inhabitants of Okinawa, the island with the longest-lived population in the world. 11 laws of ikigai
  1. Always stay active, never retire. Those who abandon the things they love and know how to do lose the meaning of their life. That is why, even after having finished their “official” working life, it is important to continue doing things of value, moving forward, bringing beauty or utility to others, helping and shaping our small world.
  2. Take it easy. Haste is inversely proportional to the quality of life. As an old proverb says: “Walking slowly takes you far.” When we leave the urgencies behind, time and life take on a new meaning.
  3. Don't eat until you're full. Even when it comes to eating for a long life, "less is more." According to the 80% rule, to preserve health for a long time, instead of stuffing yourself, you should eat a little less than you feel hungry.
  4. Surround yourself with good friends. They are the best elixir to dissolve worries with a good chat, tell and listen to anecdotes that lighten existence, ask for advice, have fun together, share, dream... In short, live.

This 80% full rule, americans should really learn it. Would help our obesity problem.

I don't think it's the amount of food. It's the type. I live in Japan and our family usually goes 110% full, especially at yakiniku and sushi train lol

I love the sushi trains. They have them in the USA, its like 8$ a plate.

It can get very expensive here. I remember in taiwan it was a lot cheaper. I would stack 30 plates easily.
