I never even DREAMED of this issue but what a complete shit show for MLB. I didn’t realize the weather in Atlanta was as bad as it was and because of the race being so close with Arizona holding the last WC spot that makes either the Mets or Atlanta have to fly to the West Coast for games on Tuesday. Depending on how it plays out there is a chance you really can’t send anyone ahead if it becomes an all hands on deck thing.
I wonder if they could move the games to Tampa or Miami. Do a double header tomorrow in one of those stadiums. Both of those teams are on the road. Sucks to lose the home games but I am sure that is preferential to trying to play a double header Monday and then go out west to play Tuesday.
I just checked and the Texas Rangers are away the rest of the year so you would think that would be a pretty solid spot to go to or St. Louis it’s the same with them being away the rest of the season
Definitely some options. Will be interesting to see how it plays out.
Did you see Ohtani’s 50/50 homerun ball is being put up for auction. Wonder how much that will fetch?
Please tell me that 1 obnoxious collector didn't get ahold of it
They will once they buy it at auction.
He's got that kind of cash?!
I don't know who will buy it but I am sure they will be a collector.
O I meant that ball hound who knocks over kids
Yeah I was a little surprised that the Dodgers themselves couldn’t create some wild package worth a few mil for it cause I mean it would be nothing to them. Give the person tickets for life auto memorabilia out the wazoo etc etc
I think Florida's not an option because of Helene as well (plus travel from ATL to FL itself might not be viable).
Yeah honestly anywhere with a covered stadium! Or at least Central time zone something… anything
Why dont they go to a domed stadium?
That’s a solid question that I myself wonder…
They still have them around, right?
Oh yeah! Lots of teams have retractable as well so I have no idea why MLB didn’t have a plan B
Right.
Usually there is more than one stadium in a major city.
Not suited for baseball though. Most cities no longer have multi sport stadiums. The exception being basketball and hockey in some cities but most leagues want their own teams to have their own stadiums/arenas
That is such a waste on the state and its citizens.
Eh more of these teams aren’t getting tax breaks or gov funding. I want to say the LA football stadium, Golden States arena and numerous other new ones are entirely or almost entirely private builds. The Raiders stadium is another
