it's just that seeing terms like self custody or self sovereignty (you can be sure the talker does not know what is sovereignty)... rubs me wrong
or we need new terminology for new technology?
language is anarchic anyways, so use whatever

it evolves pretty quickly, that's true!
When people think, or have thought, that states are the sovereign one it's hard to leave that behaviors, and the language used just reflect that life-learned lesson in the meantime we learn new paradigms and sounds to express them.
