Week 1 has come to an end. Most of the favorites have done their job and have won their matches, though there has been some surprises.
Bayern Munich is at the top of the table following their impressive win 9-2 over Dinamo Zagreb. Bayern is followed by Celtic who was able to win Slovan Bratislava 5-1. I think that this result points out how important is to win for a big difference in goals, as this is the criteria that UEFA uses when several teams have the same amount of points.
What the table shows is that even after Real Madrid beat Sttugart 3-1, they are out of the top 8. I know it is early but it is something to consider for the future. You need to win and you must score as much as you can.

On fire

Bayern Munich, Leverkusen, Dortmund. German sides are looking serious. Dortmund struggle a bit and it took them over 75 minutes to score their first goal. Liverpool got an important win at San Siro and it's at the top 8 too. Aston Villa also sorted out the match, though against a weaker side. Juventus. Only three of stackers chose "la vecchia Signora" as a favourite for the top 8, but here they are.

Cold start

Barcelona lost the match against Monaco. They had Eric Garcia sent off with only 10 minutes played. Too difficult to overcome. Man City and Inter Milan got a goalless draw. It's early, but they are running two points behind already.

Stacker rankings

So we have three stackers at the top with 13 points after week 1. @TNStacker @EverythingSatoshi and @TheMorningStar are on the lead.
Only three stackers gave a correct result for one of the fixtures and achieved top points. I know this is difficult.

I'm in the mix. Wisdom of crowds is serving me decently.

For me the most relevant thing was City's draw and Barça's loss. It must be clear that there are results that of course stand out from teams that were not expected but that is football, now looking critically at Eric García's red card falls more on ter Stegen. These results only further highlight the idea that the factor of matches with small teams getting great results and being able to stay with strong teams will be decisive and even more important, demonstrating power in the first matches will sow a respect that will guarantee permanence in the classification

Agree! And goals, getting more and more goals!
