I find myself having an excess of fiat income which keeps building up in my fiat bank. I decided to reduce my fiat collection while it was still worth something. So I have switched part of my income stream to Bitcoin. Even so, my other income streams keep building up an excess amount of fiat in my bank.
So today I withdrew a "bunch" of fiat from my fiat bank (and got to meet the new bank manager too). I bought gold Maple Leaf 1 OZ gold coins with that fiat.
Diversification feels great!
You can send the excess my way. :)

I retired in January so this income is from my 401k disbursements and Social Security. I have all the 401k money going to Bitcoin. I will soon get a pension (or possibly a one-time payout). Last year I had my paycheck and SS both going to Bitcoin. I'm thinking I'll keep the SS going to the bank. Just need to trim the buildup in the bank periodically.
Also: low cost of living city, make all my own meals and I am very cheap :-) .

Can you buy Maple Leaf gold in a non-KYC manner?

In a specialized store with cash?

in a coin dealer's shop, cash

Nice. It may be eventually harder and harder to do it this way with limits on max cash transactions, at least in some states in the EU.

United States in the south , it's tied in religiously down here. Gold guns land. I could go to Publix (local grocery market) and probably buy or sell the gold coin 😏😏 with someone in the parking lot if I tried. Just start talking about Jesus it's the code word.
reply
Hi @Recongraves, I guess we are officially in the South now that they are building a Publix here. I have the gold and guns but I have sworn off having land nowadays.

Pub sub is a must! Yea no go on land. Put 80% of my gold in BTC . Few coins if shtf. 🤠🤠

before I discovered bitcoin
Other way around with me. Found Bitcoin first and put one year's income into it. Just now discovered gold. It's nice after Bitcoin because it's physical and makes me weirdly happy.

Next, you'll find Silver, then iron, then dust. If you know the best one why look for the interior.

Second best is also okay.

I find it difficult just because my local coin store says if the price jumps up tremendously they'll shut doors when most people think they'll be open for business. Then it's back to bartering with your local citizen.

if the price jumps up tremendously they'll shut doors
I'm guessing at that point nobody wants fiat in any amount.
reply
Possibly they said if it would jump $2,000 in price the doors would shut, I think the general public is unaware so unless everything else immediately jumps up at the same time, it comes back down to utility. Similar to how houses have gone up as a savings vehicle. Prices can continually go up as long as the general public has no education on how to exit the system..idk just guessing

I have to admit those Maple Leafs are purty.
