About an hour or so after posting about the Fed rate cut and yesterday afternoon I got whooplied by a hell of a curve ball. I was setting up the Committee hearing room for our hearing this morning when I can only guess I began to feel bad… really bad. Thankfully I was able to fire off a text to my Operations Director and Staff Assistant
Seizure coming in hearing room meds in desk
By the time our Legal Assistant got to me I was down at the front of our hearing room. Where he did everything you are supposed to do in making sure the area around me was clear. Turns out our Staff Assistant went running out of the main office yelled at him in the hall to go watch me and she grabbed my meds, my Subcommittee Staff Director, and our Assistant Comms Director.
Since this was a full blown seizure I have a pretty empty/sketchy memory of yesterday afternoon after the rate hike announcement. I was able to get the meds I needed and after a few minutes was helped back to our Operation Directors office. Our Staff Assistant went and got me food while our Legal Assistant stayed with me till our Operations Director got back. I found out this morning I was super talkative and engaged during my postictal phase none of which I remember.
My Committee did a fantastic job and I knocked it out of the park. This is the first one I have had at work that I was not able to stop/get a hold of in a while now. When people ask me why I do what I do and I say my coworkers this is a prime example of what. It’s hard to find good people now a days but here I have found them.

Damn! I'm glad you're okay. Is it important you get some rest now? Are you taking some time off, or is that not necessary?

Well I had a hearing this morning I was staffing so I kinda sorta had to come in… I’m thinking about checking out early though cause I don’t feel very good given the jerking

I've never experienced a seizure and I suspect there's no analogous experience. I imagine being shot feels like an injury magnitudes worse than the bones I've broken or wounds I've had, but there's not much I've experienced like a seizure unless it resembles a panic attack or drinking way too much caffeine (which I doubt).

One of the big things is confusion and just chucks of memory missing. Yesterday after like ~2ish is pretty much a wash except for a couple of brief things. Today I feel like I got next to no sleep even though I slept almost 11 hours and it feels like my arms in particular were twisted and pulled on while some kicked me in the ribs
