If you follow a user it get's featured at the top OR it appears in bold or with a red icon to the left of the post.
This can incentivize posters to publish quality content, and help readers navigate what kind of content they want to read.

This is a great idea but I think if you're following someone it shouldn't effect the order of the posts - instead it should have a visual distinction that catches your eye.

it would be cool to like “star” a user that always posts things you appreciate. then the algorithm maybe automatically adds X amount to their content?
I agree this would be nice to have.
