100 sats \ 1 reply \ @siggy47 14 Sep \ on: Dinner for Steve- A tale of bitcoin for good BooksAndArticles
Great story! The best part is that you can continue to educate him each time you return. There are street vendors around NYC who take venmo. I always thought the lightning network could become a logical leap for them. I wonder if a WOS app would work on his phone? BTW, I think Walmart in the US makes a point of allowing homeless people and those living in their vehicles to stay in their parking lots.
That's interesting. I didn't know Walmart allowed that. Next time I see him I will see if he is able to get a WoS and send him a few sats but unfortunately he won't really be able to spend it anywhere in our town (I need to work on that). Getting by day to day is more of an immediate need for the family. When I told my wife the story she told me "oh I know them, I bought them flatbread pizza from tim hortons last week". I thought that was awesome because it made me feel that my wife was one of those "generous people" he was talking about.
