It bothers me that so many people in the US talk about their things as if it was the whole world, it is not. This article should be titled "What happens to BTC in the US..." it's not the same for everyone and assuming it is just shows how US-centric these authors are. Most people in the world do not live in the US and we don't care about what happens there.

teach your family how to use bitcoin and give them a key in your multisig.
tell them how much you have and what they need to do to unlock it with the keys that you gave them. practice practice practice and write down the steps to the multisig and give it to all the family members involved
keep it outside of the system, you don't want the feds to know about your bitcoin inheritance plan

Unchained offers estate planning if you want to deal with people who can help with these things, but you can just draw up a will with your family lawyer if you have one.
Like the other commenter said, you can just use final message and keep that info between you and your family but they need to know how tf final message works before you set it up or they'll just be confused when the dead man switch triggers and never get those funds
